back in the 1970's when my mother owned her own monogram embroidery business. This was before monograms were seen on bags, shoes, front doors, and cars, and her machine was about the size of a large ktichen island!. She perfected a beautiful and classic embroidered monogram as I watched her over the years.. Mom monogrammed everything we owned - sweaters, laundry bags, telephone book covers (remember those?), even my socks! Her monogrammed items can be found in many households throughout our community still today.
Fast forward to 2012. After raising two wonderful children with a great husband and teaching high school math, I rediscovered my love for beautiful letters, only this time creating them digitally. I set out to find new ways to enhance my mom's block, script and diamond monograms. Sifting through books of typefaces and monograms, I looked for unique designs - ones that would represent the personality of the individual or business who owned them.
I'm blessed to have the opportunity to launch Shuler Studio and hope you see something here just for you. Designing letters and integrating them with other letters and motifs is gratifying work. I make every effort to ensure your monogram is perfect for you. It is pure joy to see someone put one of these monograms on their own piece of life - an invitation, a chair, a storefront window.
My mom passed away in October 2016. She would've been amazed at how monograms and technology have evolved over the years. So I dedicate this venture to you, Mom. You would have loved to embroider these beautiful and unique designs on anything and everything - yes, even my socks!
