Getting Started & File Types
Embroidery files are digitized specifically for embroidery machines and are available in machine-compatible formats. Print files are high-resolution files designed for printing and other non-embroidery applications. SVG files are vector files commonly used with cutting machines and design software. Be sure to choose the format that matches how you plan to use the design.
Start with how you plan to use the design. If you're stitching it with an embroidery machine, choose Embroidery. If you're using the design for stationery, printing, engraving, or other print applications, choose Print. If you're using a cutting machine or software that accepts vector files, choose SVG.
No. Embroidery, Print, and SVG products are sold separately unless otherwise stated on the product page. Be sure to select the format you need before completing your purchase.
Embroidery Files
The correct format depends on your embroidery machine and software. Shuler Studio embroidery designs are available in several common machine formats. Check your machine's manual or software requirements if you're unsure which format it accepts.
Available formats vary by product. Select your preferred format from the options on the product page before adding the design to your cart. If you don't see the format you need, contact us before purchasing and we'll be happy to help.
BX files are designed for use with Embrilliance software and allow compatible embroidery fonts to be typed using your keyboard rather than placing each letter individually. BX availability varies by font.
Choose a size based on your project, hoop size, and the finished dimensions you need. The available sizes are listed on each product page. Keep in mind that embroidery designs aren't intended to be significantly resized after purchase, as this can affect stitch quality.
Satin stitches create a smooth, polished appearance and are generally best suited for smaller or narrower areas. Fill stitches use rows of stitches to cover larger areas and are typically better suited for larger or wider designs.
Check the finished dimensions listed for the design against your machine's actual embroidery area. Hoop names don't always indicate the exact usable stitching area, so we recommend comparing the listed dimensions before purchasing.
Fonts, Monograms & Add-Ons
Fonts contain individual letters that can be used to create words, names, or initials. Monograms are decorative arrangements of initials, often featuring unique letter styles and layouts. Both are great ways to personalize your projects!
Traditional three-letter monograms typically follow the order of first initial, last initial, and middle initial, with the last initial appearing larger in the center. However, some monogram styles use different arrangements. Always check the product examples to determine the correct order.

Yes! If you originally purchased a design in one format and later need another, you can purchase the additional format separately, provided it is available.

Downloads & Orders
After completing your purchase, you'll receive access to your digital files through a download link. Follow the instructions provided to download and save your designs to your device.

Editing & Troubleshooting
Yes! Our high-quality print and vector files can be resized and recolored using compatible editing software without compromising their quality. You or your vendor can customize them to fit your project. Embroidery files may have different resizing limitations.
First, make sure you've installed the font correctly and restarted your design software. Some fonts include different characters or design variations assigned to uppercase and lowercase letters, so try both when searching for a particular style. If you're still having trouble, contact our support team.
Start by confirming that you've downloaded the correct format for your embroidery machine. Make sure the file has been extracted from its ZIP folder and transferred according to your machine's instructions. If the issue continues, contact our team with your order number, machine model, and a description of the problem.
