Built On Tradition

What began with a love for embroidery in the 1970s eventually inspired the creation of Shuler Studio in 2016. Today, Shuler Studio serves customers around the world, rooted in timeless design, meaningful details, and the art of personalization.

IT BEGAN WITH AN EMBROIDERY MACHINE...

Long before monograms appeared on everything from wedding invitations to front doors, my mother owned an embroidery business in the 1970s.

Her embroidery machine was nearly the size of a kitchen island, and she used it to create beautiful, classic monograms for families throughout our community. She monogrammed almost everything we owned from sweaters, laundry bags, telephone book covers to, yes, even my socks.

I grew up watching her transform simple letters into something deeply personal. That appreciation for thoughtful design, craftsmanship and tradition became the foundation for everything Shuler Studio would later become.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE DESIGN STUDIO

After raising two wonderful children and teaching high school math, I found myself drawn back to the beautiful letters I had loved as a child.

In 2015, I began studying vintage typefaces and historic monograms, exploring how their timeless character could be reimagined for modern life. I wanted to create designs that felt classic, unique and reflect the personality of a person, family, wedding or business.

My mother passed away in 2016, the same year Shuler Studio officially launched. I often think about how much she would have loved seeing that vision come to life and watching it grow through digital monograms, fonts, and designs.

STILL A FAMILY STORY

Three years after Shuler Studio launched, I had the joy of welcoming my daughter, Carolyn, into the business.

Together, we continue creating letters, monograms and designs that honor the timeless traditions we love while giving our customers fresh and beautiful ways to personalize the moments that matter most.

A LEGACY WE CARRY FORWARD

Shuler Studio has always been about more than beautiful letters. It is about family, creativity and the joy of making something meaningful.
